One Killed in Texas Log Truck Accident on Hwy 59

An 18 wheeler truck accident on Highway 59 claimed the life of one man when a log truck driver failed to yield the right of way, sparking a collision on Tuesday morning, officials said.
Police identified the man who was killed as 56-year-old Catarino Perez, who was pronounced dead at the scene of the 18 wheeler accident on Hwy 59.
Perez was the driver in a 2000 Toyota passenger vehicle.
The driver of the log truck that collided with Perez’s vehicle was identified as 37-year-old Jerome Charez Bryant, a resident of Garrison.
Officials said Bryant was at the FM 2782, entering Hwy 59 when he pulled in front of Perez’s vehicle, which was traveling northbound on the highway. The Toyota slid beneath the log truck. Bryant did not endure injuries as a result of the truck accident on Hwy 59.
