One Killed in Tx Motorcycle Accident on Hwy 6

A 21-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a motorcycle accident on Hwy 6 Monday morning, when a pickup truck pulled into his path, officials reported.

The young man who was killed was identified as 21-year-old Jason Mitchell, a resident of Bridgeport, Texas, police said.

According to reports, Mitchell was riding a 2009 Yamaha brand motorcycle. The pickup truck involved pulled into his path at the intersection of Hwy 14, authorities noted. The driver of that pickup truck was identified by officials as a 53-year-old man.

Mitchell was pronounced dead at the scene of the motorcycle wreck on Hwy 6.

Police are still investigating the scene of the accident and have not released the condition or status of the driver of the pickup truck and whether he was injured in the collision.
