Pedestrian Accident in Galveston Leaves Two Dead

A man is being charged with intoxication manslaughter after a pedestrian accident in Galvestonthat claimed the lives of two people and a dog on the neighborhood sidewalk.

Police identified one of the people who were killed as 42-year-old Steven Hunt. The other person killed in the pedestrian was later identified as Joseph Owen.

According to reports, the man who is being charged with intoxication manslaughter after killing the two people has been identified as 27-year-old Matthew Shelton.

The Galveston pedestrian accident occurred on 13thStreet and Seawall Blvd. on Wednesday evening, authorities revealed.

Shelton and a passenger, who was in his vehicle at the time of the Galveston drunk driving accident, were transported to University of Texas Medical branch in Galveston for injuries caused by the crash.

Police believe Shelton lost control of his vehicle prior to crashing into another vehicle, which was parked on the street, and striking the two people walking their dog.
