The streets of Austin are often crowded with walkers, joggers, bikers and other pedestrians, making the importance of care and attention taken by driver, paramount to keeping both auto occupants and pedestrians safe.
Despite the importance of paying close attention, especially when traveling through areas filled with pedestrians or near school zones, drivers do not always bear the responsibility of looking out for pedestrians in an attentive manner. Crosswalks, stop lights, signage and crossing lights are vital to safeguarding pedestrians and protecting auto occupants from last minute reactions that could cause serious injuries or death.
While the dangers associated with pedestrian accidents in Texas often coincide with the speed which a car is traveling, various types of injuries can result. Brain injuries, broken bones and serious back injuries are just some of the damages that may plague the victim of a pedestrian accident, consequently, resulting in long term damage or injuries that require extensive treatment over a long period of time. Additionally, the size of a vehicle in contrast with a pedestrian is sometimes great enough to cause death among the victim or victims of a pedestrian accident.
