Pedestrian in Serious Condition After Being Struck by SUV in Lufkin

A pedestrian, struck by an SUV in Lufkin, is now listed in serious condition after suffering serious injuries as a result of the wreck.
Police said Jaime Lopez was walking along North Timberland Drive, when he was struck by a Chevy Tahoe in the turn lane.
The Tahoe, driven by Jonathan McGinty, 30, of Hunting, Texas, struck Lopez around 11 a.m. near the 400 block of the street.
Police are still investigating the Lufkin pedestrian accident to gain a better understanding of why Lopez was in the street and why McGinty may not have noticed him. Lopez was previously listed in critical condition.
