Pedestrian Struck and Trapped Beneath Austin Bus

A woman in her 20’s crossing the street in Austin was struck by a Veolia Transportation bus Tuesday afternoon after she exited a bus and used the crosswalk nearby.

The unidentified woman was trapped beneath the bus as police nearby struggled to free her.

The woman was transported to University Medical Center Brackenridge for the treatment of her injuries. Officials have not released an update on her identity or her condition.

Witnesses noted that the woman was within the crosswalk when she was struck by the bus and appeared to have just exited a different bus when the pedestrian accident in Austin occurred.

According to reports by KXAN, the bus driver was placed on administrative leave while an investigation is completed regarding the bus accident in Austin.
