Pregnant Woman Killed in San Marcos Hit and Run Accident, Baby Survives

A pregnant San Marcos woman was killed when she was hit by a driver, who fled the scene of the accident authorities said.
Although 22-year-old Diane Ford was killed in the hit-and-run pedestrian accident, hospital staff members were able to save her baby girl, who was delivered via caesarean section at University Medical Center, Brackenridge.
Ford was walking home from work, crossing Interstate 35 access road near Texas 80 when she was struck by what witnesses described as “dark with extra bright headlights.”
Any witnesses to the San Marcos hit and run accident are asked by authorities to contact them right away
Investigations of the accident are continuing and no further details regarding the status of the infant have been released.
