Rear-End Accident Involving 18 Wheeler Truck on Texas 6 Injures One

A rear-end accident involving an 18 wheeler truck resulted from a previous collisions on Wednesday night when the driver of a passenger vehicle slammed into the back of the tractor trailer that was stopping for another accident on the roadways, officials said.

According to police, the woman driving the GMC pickup that rear-ended the 18 wheeler truck was identified as 20-year-old Kathryn Kubacak. The driver of the 18 wheeler truck involved in the collision was identified as 54-year-old Freddie Cortes, a resident of Houston.

Authorities said the collision was sparked by a previous accident involving an accident that resulted when the driver of another vehicle was trying to avoid an accident and swerved into the median. The 24-year-old driver’s vehicle overturned, landing on its roof. The unidentified 24-year-old was not injured in the rollover accident.

The second accident following the initial roll over, caused Kubacak’s vehicle to erupt in flames. Witnesses on the scene combat the flames with a fire extinguisher until emergency personnel arrived.
