Round of applause for the most recalled vehicle in 2014

According to CNN, the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra took the title for the most recalled vehicles in 2014 totaling six different recalls throughout the year.

Sharing the same frame and several design features, the two vehicles are almost identical on the inside and have had nine recalls since landing the showrooms at the end of 2013.

Despite their many recalls this year, the Silverado was named “Truck of the Year” at the Detroit auto show and the Sierra model is the highest in sales for GMC models.

General Motors explains their recalls are a sign of their commitment to safety. According to The Detroit News, GM announced its 76th recall of the year in October for 7,600 police vehicles. At the time, the recall was the seventh in the past nine days.

A high volume of lawsuits have been filed due to GM’s recalls throughout 2014. If you own a GM vehicle, be sure to check for recalls on the GM’s website.
