A bus accident in San Antonio Tx left the driver of a school bus dead and sent several student passengers to the hospital with injuries resulting from the Bexar County collision Monday morning, officials revealed.

There were students aboard both of the school buses at the time of the accident that involved two buses near I-10 and Foster Rd. in front of Wagner High School.

According to police a San Antonio ISD bus was traveling northbound on Foster Rd. when the driver lost control of the bus. The driver, according to authorities, may have suffered from a medical episode that caused her to lose control of the school bus and crash, head-on, into another school bus.

The other school bus involved was a Judson Independent School District bus, which was traveling in the opposite lane of traffic.

The bus driver who was killed in the San Antonio traffic accident was identified by police as 63-year-old Dolores Martinez. Police believe Martinez may have experienced a medical emergency that led to the bus crash but have not released further details.

The driver of the Judson ISD school bus was transported to the hospital with injuries resulting from the collision. Three students were also injured in the accident and were transported to area hospitals.
