San Antonio Pedestrian Killed in Accident Involving Vehicle

According to the San Antonio Police Department, a pedestrian was killed in an accident involving a vehicle, Wednesday night on the West Side of the city.

Seventy-three-year-old Yolanda Carrejo was hit by a left-turning car near General McMullen Drive Wednesday evening, authorities said.

Witnesses at the scene and the driver who hit Carrejo said the woman told the driver she was fine and began walking home. The driver followed the woman down the street and called police to report the pedestrian accident. Officials said the woman appeared intoxicated.

Relatives at Carrejo’s home requested an ambulance and she was rushed to a hospital by ambulance, where she died, hospital representatives reported.
