San Antonio woman dragged to death by tow truck
Police are investigating the death of a woman who was dragged to death by a tow truck in San Antonio earlier this week.
According to the San Antonio Police Department, a 28-year-old woman was running after her car that was being towed from the Salado Springs apartment complex by Atlas Towing, just after 10 p.m. on Tuesday night.
The tow company owner, Ricardo Venegas, says the company has a contract to legally tow from the complex when people park in restricted areas. In this case, the woman’s car was parked in a reserve parking spot without a permit.
According to witnesses at the scene, the victim was dragged for more than half a mile before being dropped on the Wurzbach Parkway.
It is believed that the victim somehow became entangled between her car and the tow truck.
The woman’s body was found by itself in the street because the tow truck has left the scene.
Police said the woman has her 10-year-old son with her at the time of the incident.
The death is still under investigation by the SAPD.
