A single vehicle accident in Seminole left one young man dead and sent three other teens to the hospital with car accident injuries tied to the crash on CR 109 in Gaines County, Sunday, officials reported.

The young man who was killed in the tragic car accident was identified as 16-year-old Juan Antonio Veliz, a Seagraves High School Junior. Veliz was a passenger in the 2007 Cadillac at the time of the rollover accident in Gaines County.

The driver of the Cadillac was identified as 16-year-old New Mexico resident Victoriano Sanchez. Police said Sanchez appeared to have left the roadway for an unknown reason. The vehicle then smashed into nearby farming equipment and overturned.

Passenger Gabrielle Sanchez, 15, was transported along with the driver, to Brownfield Regional Medical Center. Another passenger, identified as 16-year-old Kylie Kennedy, was transported to University Medical Center.

Police believe all four occupants in the vehicle were, in fact, wearing seatbelts at the time of the Texas crash.
