Semi-Truck Rear-Ends Commercial Bus in Dallas

An 18 wheeler truck slammed into a public transit bus in Dallas Wednesday evening, on Loop 12 near U.S. 175, officials said.
According to reports, the semi-truck rear-ended the bus at around 4 p.m., causing injuries in at least 10 passengers. All ten passengers injured in the Dallas bus accident were transported to the hospital, though authorities said no one endured life-threatening injuries.
Those injured in the bus accident in Dallas have not yet been identified and investigations are still underway.
Statistics show that many bus accidents also involve bigger vehicles, such as large trucks, 18 wheelers and tractor trailers, making some of the injuries resulting more serious than accidents involving small, passenger vehicles.
Metropolitan areas often have higher rates of bus accidents, according to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, highlighting the prevalence of bus accidents in Texas metropolitans like San Antonio, Austin, Houston and Dallas. But while urban bus accidents are more common than rural instances, cross country bus accidents kill as many as 50 people every year.
