Seven-Year-Old Girl Killed in Mobile Home Fire Accident

A 7-year-old girl was killed in a Wood County fire accident, Tuesday evening, after a mobile home ignited and was quickly swallowed in flames, Perryville Volunteer Fire Department officials said.

According to the fire crew, four people escaped from the fiery home, enduring burn injuries to their faces, hands and bodies. They were transported to Parkland Hospital Burn Unit in Dallas, via helicopter.

Fire volunteer’s repeated attempts to save 7-year-old Jazmine Henson were unsuccessful and he young girl died in the tragic fire.

The rest of the home’s occupants were identified as Justin Hammond, Linda Henson, Belinda Henson and a 2-year-old boy.

In addition to the injuries and fatality resulting from the tragic fire accident in Texas, a Perryville firefighter also endured injury when he fell from the fire truck. He sustained neck injuries and back injuries as a result of the workplace injury.

Investigators are still looking into the cause of the fire and whether a faulty heater caused the fire or conditions within the mobile home ignited the blaze.
