Rollover accidents reveal a tricky situation, where drivers and passengers can become vulnerable to injuries that arise when their vehicles fail to protect them from the impact of a rollover accident and ejection from the vehicle as it overturns.
Automakers have the ability and technology at their fingertips that allows the protection of occupants from vehicle ejection and crushing blows that occur when a vehicle overturns onto its own roof. Despite the seriousness of a rollover accident, passengers and drivers escape serious injuries and death everyday with the provision of adequate protection that comes with new technologies meant to provide greater safety with new equipment and roof reinforcement.
But while there is technology available to auto makers that could potentially safeguard vehicle occupants from death and serious injury, defective safety equipment, including electrical malfunctions that spark fires, bad glass that allows ejection or partial ejection and defective air bags are just some of the types of auto products that can fail, leaving occupants vulnerable to injuries.
