Student Critically Injured in Bicycle Accident in Waco

A student from Baylor’s Truett Seminary was seriously injured after being struck from behind in abicycle accident in Waco, officials said Friday.

Police identified the young man as 23-year-old Isaias Torres-Loera, a first-year student at the school. Torres-Loera was traveling north on South University Parks Drive Thursday evening, when he was struck by a Nissan Murano.

After being thrown to the ground Torres-Loera experienced serious head injuries, authorities noted. He was transported via ground ambulance to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center.

Torres-Loera was not wearing a helmet at the time of the bicycle accident in Waco.

Police are still looking into the Waco bicycle accident and investigating the details associated.
