Subaru Recalls Thousands of Vehicles for Potentially Faulty Brakes

Subaru recently issued a voluntary recall of 2012 model year Subaru Legacy, Subaru Outback and Subaru Impreza vehicles.

The vehicles were recalled by the auto manufacturers as a result of defective brake master cylinders, which could potentially cause the rear brake to drag.

A dragging rear brake defect, if left unaddressed, could cause possible fires or accidents. Some consumers have already reported fire hazards resulting from the defect, although no deaths or serious injuries have been noted.

While only about 3,000 of the Subaru vehicles recalled were actually on the roads, or sold, some car lots still have the affected cars and are continuing to work on getting them fixed before they are purchased.

The recalled Subaru’s do not include the WRX/STI models of the Impreza.
