Suspected Drunk Driver Injures Woman in Texas Rollover Accident

A driver traveling northeast on Interstate 20 is suspected of driving drunk after sparking a rollover accident with an SUV, Tuesday afternoon.

The driver accused of drunk driving was approached by a police officer after a call was received about reckless driving on the interstate, officials said. After approaching the driver, the 30-year-old Abilene, Texas man fled in his 1999 Ford Explorer.

Headed wrong-way on the interstate, the driver smashed into another Ford Explorer, sparking a head-on collision that resulted in a rollover.

The woman driving the other Ford Explorer has only been identified as a 24-year-old Clyde, Texas resident. Injured in the rollover accident caused by the drunken driver, the woman was seen being transported to an ambulance in a neck brace.

The man suspected of drunk driving was also injured in the head-on collision, although her was handcuffed, police said.
