Two people inside a San Antonio store were injured early Wednesday when the driver of an SUV smashed into a flower shop on West Avenue.

Witnesses said the driver of a KIA Sportage appeared to lose control, climbing a curb and hopping a sidewalk before crashing through the San Antonio business.

According to officials, the owner of San Antonio Flower Co. was airlifted to the hospital with injuries endured after being pinned between the vehicle and the shop’s countertop.

Additionally, another victim of the car accident in San Antonio was hurt when she was struck by debris that resulted from the crash.

The driver of the KIA was given a sobriety test following the accident and was later handcuffed, sparking some speculation that she may have been driving drunk at the time of the accident. Officials said the scene of the accident is now being considered a crime scene.
