Teen Killed in Crosswalk Accident in Austin

A Pedestrian accident near a middle school resulted in the death of a 17-year-old boy and the injury of a 15-year-old girl when they were struck by a pickup truck.

Joshua Milton was identified as the teen killed in the tragic crosswalk accident. He was pronounced dead at the scene. According to police, a Chevy pickup, hit the teens as they were crossing the street at a crosswalk. Although the driver of the truck stopped the vehicle to help, officials are unsure if speed was associated with the tragic accident.

The girl was most recently listed in critical condition.

Statistics say that teens and children under the age of 16 are more likely to be struck be a car. Additionally, pedestrian accidents and crosswalk accidents are more likely to occur during evening hours.
