Central Texas man killed in collision with semi in Nebraska
A two-vehicle crash killed 72-year-old Lester Maciej of Round Rock on Monday.
According to the Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred on U.S. Highway 75, just over 5 miles outside of Auburn, Nebraska.
Maceij was headed south on the highway when his 1999 Lexus, which was pulling a camping trailer, crossed over the center-line and collided with a northbound semi official reports state.
The Texas man was pronounced dead at the scene, says the Sheriff’s Office.
The driver of the semi, 52-year-old Bryant Olson of Springfield, Missouri, suffered minor injuries.
Jeanne Maceij, 70, was a passenger in the Lexus at the time of the incident. She suffered minor injuries and was transported to the Nemaha County Hospital, police report.
The crash is under investigation by local authorities as well as the Nebraska State Patrol.
