Texas State student killed in bus accident
A Texas State University freshman was struck and killed by a shuttle bus near San Marcos on Friday.
According to both local police Jordin Taylor, 20, of Burleson, was at a fraternity party hosted by Pi Kappa Alpha and at least one other fraternity off campus, at the Cool River Ranch venue.
At 11:15 p.m., a shuttle bus used by the venue to transport guests, lost its air brakes and was left parked where it was stopped. The following morning, Taylor’s body was found underneath the bus by a mechanic, police say.
The Sheriff’s Department believes that Taylor came into contact with the bus and was dragged over 500 ft.
The department is still investigating the incident, but says it appears to be an accident.
