Texas Teacher Killed in Motorcycle Accident

A suspected JISD high school teacher was killed in a motorcycle accident near Arp, Texas, Friday, officials said.

Texas Department of Public Safety authorities said the accident caused when an oil rig, that was trying to complete a u-turn on Highway 135 when the East Texas woman rode beneath the truck on her motorcycle.

The Jo Merideth was ejected from the bike into a nearby wooded area. She was pronounced dead upon arrival at a Tyler hospital. According to troopers, the woman was wearing a helmet at the time of the oil rig accident. Police say charges against the truck driver may be considered but have not yet been filed.
