Thick Fog Causes SUV Rollover Accident on Texas Highway

The thick morning fog Monday, resulted in an SUV rollover accident on U.S. Highway 287, said Police Department officials.

Authorities say the SUV was traveling westbound when the driver slammed on her brakes to prevent her vehicle from rear ending the car in front of her. The impact of the sudden braking caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The Chevrolet SUV rolled twice before coming to a stop.

A child passenger was also in the rollover and became trapped within the SUV until paramedics could free the child.

Fog visibility at the time of the accident was 150 yards, officials said.

An updated status of the driver’s injuries has not been released, though the child was protected by the vehicles child safety seat and endured no injuries as a result of the SUV rollover accident.
