Three Porter High School teenagers were killed Wednesday when the car they were riding in lost control, hitting a tree and flipping. Two other students that were passengers were treated for injuries and released, according to reports.
Jose Alberto, 17, and Osbalda Avila, 18, were pronounced dead at the scene of the car accident. Juan Manuel Velasquez, 17, was pronounced dead at Kingwood hospital.
The road where the vehicle accident occurred is reported to be very narrow, with no shoulders, Kelly Mattlage of New Caney school district said.
“It’s dangerous. It’s a road where many accidents happen,” Mattlage said.
Students at Port High School will have access to grief counselors today, school officials note.
