Three Workers Injured in San Angelo Tank Explosion

Three workers for SNS Steel Industries LLC, in San Angleo, were injured Monday when an air tank exploded on Christoval Road.
According to the San Angelo Fire Department, the employees were testing the pressure of the tank, when its equipment broke, injured the three workers. All three people were transported to Shannon Medical Center.
The most seriously injured worker, Ruben Esparza, 47, of Pearsall was admitted to the hospital after the impact of the explosion caused him to spit up blood.
Reported noted that the air tank was 20 feet tall. Fire Department officials are not sure how close the workers were standing to the tank at the time of the San Angelo air tank explosion.
All three were transported to the hospital for their workplace injuries. Police have not yet released their names and the workplace accident is still under investigation, including a federal investigation being completed by OSHA.
