Tire blowout kills teen in Hunt County
A 15-year-old girl has died following a single-vehicle crash in Hunt County on Sunday.
According to the Texas Department of Safety, the driver, who have been identified as Brandon Brown, lost control of his car after the back tire came loose, causing the vehicle to flip several times, landing in the median.
Both the driver, and the 15-year-old passenger Kailey Robb, were ejected from the vehicle.
Robb was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Brown was taken to Hunt County Regional Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and was later released.
The crash occurred on I-30 East, one mile southeast of Greenville at approximately 2:30 p.m.
