An 18 Wheeler accident in Bell County killed one person Friday afternoon along a foggy FM 439, officials said.

According to Texas Department of Public Safety troopers, the driver of a passenger vehicle was killed when a semi-truck collided with the smaller vehicle.

Twenty-two-year old Brian Dean Alexander was identified by TDPS officials as the driver of the 1995 Chevrolet Caprice that collided with the semi-truck in Bell County.

Two passengers in the tractor trailer were transported to a local hospital with injuries, authorities said. The driver of the 18 wheeler truck was identified as San Antonio resident, Bobby Terrell, who suffered a concussion as a result of the truck accident in Central Texas.

Some witnesses said an explosive fire was sparked by the semi-truck accident in Texas, but reports have not been confirmed.

Police are attributed the accident to a thick fog in Bell County, which sparked an advisory by the National Weather Service.
