Train Accident in Diboll Kills Two Woman and a Child
A train accident in Diboll left two women and a child dead Thursday afternoon, when the train struck a Jeep, sitting on the tracks.
Police identified the two women as 54-year-old Sofia Carrillo and 19-year-old Tavita Carrillo, both residents of Diboll. An 18 month-old boy was also killed in the Diboll train crash.
The two women and the child were all pronounced dead at the scene of the Texas train accident.
The train accident took place at the Maynard Street railroad crossing, where witnesses said the car was sitting on the tracks as the train approached. Police are still investigating why the driver did not move the vehicle.
According to witnesses, the train pushed the Jeep along the tracks before coming to a stop past the railroad crossing. The Jeep landed in a ditch off the tracks.
