A multiple-vehicle accident in Travis County involved a Travis County Deputy, who was transported to Round Rock Medical Center with undisclosed injuries.

Travis County Sheriff’s Office representative said the accident occurred near Swan and Olsen, on Mill Road. The deputy that was injured was riding a motorcycle at the time the motorcycle accident occurred.

Investigators were busy reconstructing the scene of the accident in an effort to reveal more about the details associated. Traffic in the area was backed up for a couple hours as a result.

No updates have been offered regarding the status of the deputy’s injuries or whether any other passengers or drivers were also injured in the motorcycle accident.

Motorcycle accidents are prevalent within the news, often highlighting the vulnerability of motorcyclists sharing the road with much larger cars and trucks. Although wearing a helmet is not required in Texas, some motorcyclists seriously injured or killed in accidents experience problems that may have been prevented with the use of proper protective equipment.
