truck driver that hit and killed a four-year-old boy Sunday afternoon is still missing
Shortly after 5 p.m. Sunday the boy was hit in the 5700 block of Cameron Road near Clayton Lane in east Austin. The family was legally crossing the crosswalk when the boy was hit, according to police.
The parents were giving the boy first aid when the officers arrived and handed the boy’s care to the EMS. The child was transported to Dell Children’s Medical Center, where he passed away.
KXAN interviewed a nearby neighbor that said the cars speed in that area too often.
“The cars just don’t stop, they just don’t care. You’re walking and they’re zooming around you or in front of you,” Catalina Garcia explained.
Another pedestrian fatality involving a child also happened earlier this month.
The suspect vehicle is believed to be an older white and tan Chevy Silverado with a ladder in the bed of the truck. If you know who the suspect could be, contact the police immediately.
