Truck T-Bones Van in Texas Accident, Kills Two, Injures Three

A wreck involving two vehicles on Texas 105 East killed two people and injured three more Friday morning, Houston officials said.
According to police, a 1997 Toyota Previa van failed to yield right of way after stopping at a stop sign at the intersection at Fostoria Road. As a result, a 1997 Ford F-150 t-boned the van.
Thirty-four-year-old Juan Gante, the driver of the van, died at the scene of the car accident. His passenger, Maria Gomez, 38, of Houston, was also pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
Van passengers, Marisela Gomez, 34 of Cleveland, and Monica Gomez, 3, were transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital-Texas Medical Center in Houston via air flight. They were last listed in serious condition. Monica Gomez suffered broken bones and head trauma as a result of her injuries sustained in the car accident.
The driver of the truck, Richard Johnson, 67, of Cleveland suffered broken bones and internal injuries.
Authorities said, all of the occupants in both vehicles were wearing seatbelts and Monica Gomez was properly restrained in a child safety seat.
Investigations surrounding the tragic accident are still underway. Our prayers go out to the victims, and their family members, as they struggle with the aftermath of this heartbreaking accident.
