Two Children Killed, Seven Injured in Belton Car Accident

A two-vehicle car accident near Belton resulted in the death of two children and the injury of seven people, Sunday afternoon, Texas Department of Public Safety officials said.
Seven-year-old Paul Michael Christian and four-year-old John Able Christian, both of San Antonio, pronounced dead at the scene of the car accident by Bell County Justice of the Peace Don Engleking.
Patrice Jenne Christian, 39, was the driver of the car transporting the boys. She was listed in critical condition with severe chest injuries. The car was also carrying 11-year-old Jvon Christian, also out of San Antonio, listed in critical condition with serious head injuries, and 18-year-old Charles McIntyre, of Killeen, listed in serious condition with pelvic injuries.
In the other vehicle involved in the accident, the driver, 31-year-old Daniel Eric Lawson was listed in good condition.
According to officials at the scene, the Chevrolet Malibu, carrying the children who died, attempted to make a U-turn on FM 436 in Belton, when the car behind struggled to stop in time, slamming into the side of the Chevy.
Two other children were passengers in the vehicle following the Chevy. The status of the conditions of Olivia Paige Lawson, 2, and Clayton Garrett Lawson, 6, have not yet been released.
