Car Crash Kills Two On Highway 6

A Brazos County car accident on Hwy 6, involving two vehicles left one woman dead on Wednesday morning and sent another person to the hospital, officials said.

According to police, the driver of a black BMW SUV veered into the opposite lane of traffic, colliding, head-on, into a pickup truck. The driver of the SUV, who was identified as a 37-year-old Hilari Star Tayrien, of Houston, was killed in the head-on collision on Highway 6.

The driver of the pickup truck, who was identified as 46-year-old Darryl Dewayne Young, of Bryan, was transported to St. Joseph Health System. Young was previously listed in critical condition but later died in the hospital as a result of injuries he endured in the Bryan car accident. Police said Young was driving a 1994 Chevrolet pickup truck

The head-on collision occurred near the county line between Brazos County and Robertson County at approximately 4:00 a.m. A report updated by KWTX noted that the car accident in Bryan was so severe that the front and side of the BMW were ripped apart, completely separating from the chassis.
