MLK Boulevard Crash Kills Two In Waco

A Waco car accident that claimed the lives of two people is still being investigated, causing officials to close down Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, they announced.

Police identified the two people killed in the Waco car accident as 22-year-old Stephanie Perez, a resident of Garland and 28-year-old Eric Wardell. Perez was pronounced dead at the scene of the Waco car wreck. Wardell was transported to the hospital, where he died of injuries he injured in the auto accident.

A third occupant in the vehicle was identified as 23-year-old Dustin Wardell, who was recently listed in critical condition.

According to police, the driver of the vehicle lost control, causing the Ford Mustang to leave the roadway before smashing into a tree and erupting in flames.

The accident occurred at approximately 2 a.m. on Saturday morning.

Authorities are still investigating the accident and looking into what may have caused the driver to lose control of the Mustang and what may have sparked the vehicle fire.
