Two Mormon Missionaries Killed, One Injured in Hit-and-Run Bicycle Accident

Two missionaries from the Mormon Church were killed and a third was hurt when their were hit by a car, which fled the scene, South Texas officials said.
According to Department of Public Safety troopers, all three victims were wearing helmets and using proper lighting and safety equipment whileriding their bicycles, when they were struck by the vehicle on Tuesday evening.
The Texas bicycle accident occurred in Donna and the hit-and-run-vehicle’s driver surrenders at a port of entry into Mexico, where he is from, authorities reported.
The names of the men killed have not yet been released as family is notified.
The Mormon Church did release the name of the injured missionary, Zachary Todd Harris, 19, of Huntsville, Ala. Harris was treated at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco, where he was later released. Our hearts go out to the young men killed and their family members and loved ones.
