Arkansas 5-yr-old Killed In Crash

A 5-year-old Arkansas boy was killed when the SUV he was riding in experienced a tire blowout, causing the vehicle to roll over while traveling Eastex Freeway on Monday afternoon.

Police identified the young boy as Trace Williams, who was riding in the rear seat of the Chevrolet Suburban at the time of the tire blowout accident on Eastex Freeway.

The tire accident caused the driver of the Suburban, who has not yet been identified by officials, to lose control of the SUV. The vehicle overturned and slid across the roadway.

Williams was pronounced dead at the scene of the tire blowout accident. The driver of the vehicle and other passengers were transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital with injuries caused by the single vehicle car accident.

Police did not reveal which one of the tires experienced a blowout that sparked the rollover crash.

Blowouts that occur on the driver’s side, rear tire can make it even more difficult for the driver to maintain control of a car, truck or SUV. SUV’s and trucks can also pose a greater risk of rolling because of their higher centers of gravity.
