Urgent Recall Issued for CareFusion Enve Ventilators

Posted By The Carlson Law Firm || 20-Oct-2011

The Food and Drug Administration gave San Diego medical device maker, CareFusion after an urgent recall for Enve ventilators was issued. This is the second urgent recall of the medical device, made by the company, this year.

Twenty-nine of the machines were recalled because of the possibility of delayed starts or unexpected shut downs of the machine, caused by flawed manufacturing problems.

The recalled devices were made between December 2010 and May 2011.

Last year, electronic infusion pumps made by CareFusion were recalled by the thousands because of another manufacturing flaw that created the risk of wireless network connection shut downs.

Problems with the recently recalled ventilators include; delays, despite reconnection, automatic resets and potential disconnects when the device is moved. All of the listed issues with the defective device could create shortages of oxygen within users.
