Victim of deadly Loop 410 crash identified
Bexar County officials have identified the man who was killed last week in a deadly traffic accident in San Antonio.
According to authorities, 32-year-old Robert Cornish was hit and killed while inspecting his vehicle and trailer on the far right shoulder of the road on Loop 410, near New Sulphur Springs Road.
The driver of a red Mercury Cougar lost control, drove off onto the left shoulder, returned to the main lanes of traffic and slide sideways, pinning Cornish between the car and truck, police said.
The teenage driver was taken to University Hospital by helicopter in critical condition.
According to friends of the Cornish family, Robert was a father of 2 young girls and just found out that he and his wife are expecting their third child, a boy.
Police are still not sure what caused the teen driver to lose control, but an investigation is ongoing.
