Woman and Child Seriously Injured in Single Vehicle Accident in New Braunfels, Texas

Among holiday shopping and travel traffic, I-35 endured multiple Texas auto accidents, including one New Braunfels car accident that left a woman and a child seriously injured.

According to officials, an Oldsmobile Cutlass, traveling northbound on I-35, lost control, veering into a center retaining wall, before coming to a stop in front of three lanes of traffic.

Emergency crews discovered a 22-year-old female and a 3-year-old girl, who were suffering serious injuries as a result of the single-vehicle accident. Crews attempted to transport the two to the hospital via helicopter.

The helicopter required a large landing area necessary for authorities to board the injured woman and girl, causing officials to shut down northbound traffic, clearing a space for landing.

The names of the injured have not yet been released and police are investigating the cause of the car accident.
