Woman and Two Grandchildren Killed in Single Vehicle Accident Near Chireno, Texas

Three people are dead following a fatal car accident in East Texas, which claimed the lives of a grandmother and two of her grandchildren near Chireno, Texas.

Department of Public Safety officials identified the driver of the SUV as Annie Diggles Jones of San Augustine. Police said Jones may have been speeding at the time the accident took place.

Jones’ granddaughter, Armontay Woods, 12, was also killed in the single vehicle accident. Additionally, Anfernee Diggles, 14, was also pronounced dead at the scene of the car accident in Texas.

Jones had one more grandchild as a passenger in her SUV, identified as Amauryia Diggles, 11, who was transported to the hospital with injuries resulting from the crash. She was recently listed in good condition.

Authorities said Jones and her grandchildren were not wearing seatbelts at the time the single-vehicle accident took place.
