Woman on Bicycle Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident in San Antonio

A woman was killed in a hit and run accident in San Antonio when she was struck by an unknown vehicle while traveling on the shoulder of Texas 27 on Wednesday night.

Police identified the woman as 49-year-old Kerrville resident, Debra Zapata. According to reports Zapata was riding her bicycle near the 4500 block on Highway 27 when she was hit from behind.

Zapata was transported to Peterson Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead after arriving.

Police are still investigating the hit-and-run accident in San Antonio and are seeking information regarding witnesses and information about the vehicle that killed Zapata.
