Woman passenger dies when vehicle drives into drop off in Temple

A 47-year old woman died Friday night in a single vehicle crash.

At 2 a.m. an emergency crew responded to an accident at South Bruce Drive just north of Avenue H.

The woman was a passenger in the vehicle driven by a man that survived the crash. The driver said he drove into a parking lot and stopped at a stop sign that was 6 feet above a parking lot level. After stopping, the driver drove forward not realizing there was a drop.

The truck drove off of the edge and landed straight down, killing the woman. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Temple Police Department Traffic Investigations Unit is investigating the crash at this time. Wrongful death is a tragedy and families often need help in these situations.
