Wrong Way Accident on Hwy 290 Kills Two Texas A&M Cadets

A head-on collision in Houston claimed the lives of two Texas A&M Corps Cadets when another vehicle collided with the SUV they were in while traveling on Hwy 290 Sunday, police reported.
The two Cadets were identified as 18-year-old Amy Pacheco and 18-year-old Miguel Hernandez. A third person in the vehicle, identified as Francisco Campos ,18, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
The driver of the wrong-way vehicle that sparked the collision was identified as 21-year-old Katie Thomas, a resident of Deer Park. Thomas was also killed in the Houston car accident.
KHOU News reported that the trio was traveling back to College Station after judging a contest in Houston. The accident occurred at approximately 3:30 a.m., officials said.
Although police are still investigating the wrong way accident in Houston, they believe alcohol may have been involved.
