J.T. was born in Greenville, South Carolina. J.T.’s father was in the ministry, which led to the family moving often. J.T. has lived in South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Florida, Illinois, and Texas.
J.T. began handling personal injury cases more than 30 years ago as a claims adjuster for a major insurance company. It’s because of this work J.T. is now familiar with how insurance companies evaluate cases and how they evaluate their competition: lawyers.
Having previously earned a B.S. from Bob Jones University in 1984, J.T. later graduated from Regent University School of Law in 1995 with his J.D.
For the past several years, the focus of J.T.’s practice has been nursing home neglect and abuse cases. Pursuing these types of cases requires experience, knowledge, professionalism and drive – all of which J.T. has plenty of. Proving institutional abuse is often a difficult task because in some cases, victims are too afraid or physically unable to speak for themselves. J.T. has quickly become a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves.
J.T. is an active member of various professional associations, including the Texas Trial Lawyers’ Association, The Capital Area Trial Lawyer Association, the American Association for Justice and he is currently serving on the Workgroup on Forensic Science Disclosure.
J.T. has given seminar presentations to attorneys from Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Kentucky, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, New Jersey, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, and Virginia.
Although most of his time is devoted to his profession, J.T. is a devoted family man. He and his wife have been blessed with two wonderful children, a grandchild and 30 years of marriage.
