Joseph Craven is a national mass torts attorney dedicated to helping victims of medical malpractice and product liability.
Joseph learned the importance of helping others and the community at a very young age. He comes from a family of lawyers and grew up hearing stories of his father and grandfather working together as attorneys in Illinois—where his grandfather was also a judge. After seeing the gratitude clients held for his father and grandfather, he knew early on that he wanted to help people. During law school, he worked at the 14th Court of Appeals in Houston and the Western District of Texas in Waco. In both of these positions, he researched case law and drafted opinions. Now an excellent attorney at The Carlson Law Firm, he enjoys providing answers to tough questions for clients. He focuses his efforts on Mass Torts Products Liability, including defective airbags, defective medication and other defective products.
Joseph is a graduate of Baylor Law School (Cum Laude); he received his Bachelor’s Degree from Illinois College (Summa Cum Laude). He is known for his orating skills. While at Baylor, Joseph was awarded Third Best Oralist in the Federal Bar Association Moot Court Competition, Third Best Oralist in Dawson & Sodd Moot Court Competition and was a Semi-Finalist in the Dawson & Sodd Moot Court Competition.
As a mass torts attorney, Joseph recognizes that his clients don’t contact him on their best day. Often, his clients or a close loved one are dealing with traumatic experiences. He works hard to show his clients that he cares about them and considers putting clients at ease about their situation as the highlight of his day. As a compassionate attorney dedicated to helping people through the toughest times in their lives, he truly embodies The Carlson Law Firm’s values.
His most notable case to date is working on the General Motors Ignition Switch recall in the Southern District of New York Multidistrict Litigation. Joseph and his team were able to secure settlements for a large number of clients at confidential amounts.
Joseph is a member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association. He is the former Service Chair of the Killeen Rotary Club (2018-2019) and currently serves as the Service Rotary Chair.
When he’s not representing clients, Joseph is constantly challenging himself and keeping his mind sharp. He enjoys trivia and crossword puzzles. He also a Deacon at his church, Grace Bible Church.
