Carlson’s Savannah Stroud Receives Board Certification in Family Law

TEMPLE, Texas − The Carlson Law Firm is proud to announce that our Temple office partner, Savannah Stroud, received Board Certification in Family Law from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization (TBLS).

Board certification is a voluntary designation program certifying Texas attorneys in 25 specific areas of law. Board Certified attorneys must be licensed for at least five years, devote a required percentage of practice to a specialty area for at least three years, attend continuing education seminars, pass an evaluation by fellow lawyers and judges and pass a 6-hour written examination. According to the TBLS, less than 10% of Texas licensed attorneys are board-certified.

“Board certification is an important step to better serve my clients and all of the clients who come to The Carlson Law Firm looking for legal guidance,” Stroud said. “Family law is ever-changing and I’ve been lucky to work alongside some of the best attorneys in the field. I hope to pass the kind of career guidance I’ve received on to the next generation of up and coming lawyers.”

As a Bell County family law attorney, Stroud has helped hundreds of Central Texas families through difficult moments in their lives. She has been recognized as the Bell County Young Lawyer of the Year and has been named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers.

Stroud is a graduate of Texas Tech University School of Law. She has been with The Carlson Law Firm for 13 years and was licensed by the State Bar of Texas in 2008.

Board Certification is offered in 25 specific areas of law to attorneys. Initial Certification is valid for five years. To remain certified, attorneys and paralegals must apply for recertification every five years and meet substantial involvement, peer review, and continuing legal education requirements for their specialty area.

“The Carlson Law Firm recruits top talent to represent our clients no matter what their legal needs may be,” Managing Partner Craig Carlson said. “When we have people on our team who are working on their individual career goals to be the best of the best and most knowledgeable in their field, we realize how lucky we are to have them. We are very proud of Savannah.”
