[Killeen, TX]—The Carlson Law Firm will host its annual backpack giveaway on Saturday, Aug. 2, from 10 a.m. at its Killeen office, 100 E Central TX EXPY, Killeen, TX. The firm will revamp the event this year by making it a drive-thru so that families can easily pick up their KISD-compliant backpacks filled with school supplies and enjoy a scavenger hunt and other activities from the comfort of their vehicles.
Each backpack will have the following school supplies:
- Scissors
- Pencils
- Glue
- Markers
- Crayons
- Notebooks
- Portfolios
“We know that education changes lives, and our goal is to help children succeed by making sure they have the materials they need to start the school year strong,” said Craig Carlson, managing partner at The Carlson Law Firm.
This free back-to-school Party With a Purpose drive-through event is part of the firm’s charitable outreach program, Carlson Cares.
“Bringing our backpack giveaway back to Killeen for the second year in a row means a great deal to us,” Carlson said. “The kids coming to this event are future leaders, and wherever life takes them, we hope they’ll look back on this time and remember they had an entire community standing behind them.”
The Mid-Texas Corvette Club will join the fun, displaying their life-size Hot Wheels.
Additionally, officers from the Killeen Police Department will help direct the flow of traffic. As shown on the official event map, attendees can join the line on Florence Road.
Backpacks and supplies will be distributed while supplies last. There is a limit of three backpacks per family. Children must be present to receive a backpack.
