At The Carlson Law Firm, giving back to the communities we serve is a core part of who we are. This week, our Killeen office had the opportunity to continue that mission with an important update to our Little Library.

We were proud to welcome Ashley Booker-Knight, founder of the LKB Foundation and the Words Unite Bookstore’s Books for a Cause program, who stopped by to restock our library with a thoughtfully curated selection of books for the community.

A Thoughtful Collection for Every Reader

This quarter’s collection reflects both Black History Month and Women’s History Month. The chosen books celebrate diverse voices and tell powerful stories throughout history that include:

  • Books by black authors
  • Stories highlighting black history and culture
  • A mix of fiction and nonfiction
  • Titles centered on women’s experiences and contributions

The collection is meant to engage readers of all ages with a variety of options while encouraging learning and reflection.

A Partnership That Gives Back

The Little Library at our Killeen office is part of an ongoing partnership with Ashley and the Books for a Cause program. Through this collaboration, new books are delivered and refreshed each quarter to ensure the library continues to serve the community.

Programs like this help remove barriers to access by providing free books to individuals and families who may not otherwise have them available. It also creates an opportunity for neighbors to discover new authors, explore different perspectives and improve reading habits.

We are grateful to partner with organizations like Words Unite Bookstore and the LKB Foundation, whose work continues to make an impact in Killeen and beyond. You can learn more about their work and follow their latest updates on Instagram.
